You are not fans.
You are pathetic.
I hope you’re fucking happy.
As this blog is wholly involved with Twitter and several BBC shows, I would just like address this issue now. This is absolutely unacceptable. As much as we see these people as celebrities, please remember that THEY ARE JUST AS HUMAN AS YOU AND I ARE. They do not deserve to be treated in this way. NO ONE should be receiving death threats or derogatory comments.
Steven, Amanda, Caitlin, and other celebrities are on Twitter because they would like to interact with their fans and share their lives with us. It is a courtesy. Amanda doesn’t have to spend time everyday replying to people, wishing them happy birthday, or updating us on what’s happening in the Freeman-Abbington household/various BBC shows. SO WHY ARE WE SENDING HER DEATH THREATS? Really? And Caitlin is just a normal 12 year old girl who’s a talented actress to boot. So why the hateful comments? If you dislike her acting, do us all a favor and keep it to yourself. Please.
So JUST STOP. There is no need for such hate. I really hope you’re all happy that it had to end this way. The blog will continue running for the time being.
-Amy
Hmm… That’s actually a very good question. I (Amy) actually just started helping out with the blog about a month ago, so this is actually Kathy and (other) Amy’s blog that I’m just helping to admin.
I’d personally like to keep it going, although Steven was a integral part of this blog. However, other people related to the fandoms, such as Mark Gatiss, Sue Vertue, Arthur Darvill, Karen Gillan, and Amanda Abbington are still on Twitter.
And for many of our followers on Tumblr who don’t have Twitter, this was a great way to get the latest news and fun tweets out to everyone.
I, personally, am very upset that Steven has decided to delete his Twitter. Some people of the Doctor Who and Sherlock fandoms unfortunately forgot that he was just a normal human being, albeit a great writer and storyteller, and did not treat him with the respect he deserved. No one deserves to be treated the way he is. But it’s probably best that he’s off Twitter now.
So basically, yes, the blog will keep running and updating for now, as long as the others still tweet. I will be talking to Kathy and Amy about what they want to do and will keep you all updated.
But thanks for following along all this time! You guys are great!
For those on Twitter, we are sad to report that Steven Moffat has left Twitter this morning. No reasons given at present.
UPDATE: @SueVertue: For all asking @stevenmoffat is well and currently having a family lunch but he’s got a huge amount on and twitter was proving a distraction.
Friendly reminders (and sound advice) from your mortal enemies favorite TV writers/producers that Doctor Who is back again today, and on soon tonight: Dinosaurs on a Spaceship!
@steven_moffat: The #doctorwho team in New York at a screening of Asylum Of The Daleks. Heartbroken to miss it - but be nice to them, Americans!
Exciting news just tweeted by Steven Moffat……
